The process of building an ICF home:
An ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) home begins with a 12" x 20" footing to ensure a superior foundation.
Each ICF is locked to the next with a double tongue and grove design, and the walls are securely braced in preparation for pouring the concrete. Insulating Concrete Forms are constructed with high density polystyrene (styrofoam) blocks inside and outside. They are available in different width, but we typically use a 6" or 8" wall.
The blocks are glued together to form the outer walls of the house, with steel rebar tied vertically and horizontally inside. The window and door openings are blocked out, and the concrete wall is then poured to fill the formed walls.
Once the first story walls are poured, the second story is built, and the second story walls are placed and poured.
From there, a custom truss can be added to add to the unique quality of your home.
Spray-in Foam Insulation
In place of fiberglass insulation, the polyurethane foam insulation is sprayed in place. This allows the insulation to fill every corner and joint to seal out moisture, wind, and sound.

Why choose and ICF home?
ICF homes are better insulated (R50), quieter and cleaner than conventional construction. They also offer significant savings on energy costs over a conventional stick framed home. An ICF home is fire safe, environmentally friendly and will stand the test of time.
